Thyroxine Sodium is a synthetic form of the thyroid hormone thyroxine (T4). It is used to treat hypothyroidism (an underactive thyroid), where the thyroid gland does not produce enough hormone. It helps restore normal energy, metabolism, growth, and mental development. It is also prescribed in goiter, post-thyroid surgery, and certain thyroid cancers.
