Moxifloxacin 0.5% w/v Eye Drops is a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone ophthalmic antibiotic used to treat bacterial eye infections, particularly bacterial conjunctivitis (pink eye). It works by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV enzymes, preventing bacterial growth and leading to bacterial cell death. The eye drops help relieve symptoms such as redness, swelling, discharge, irritation, and discomfort while promoting faster recovery. It is effective only against bacterial eye infections and should not be used for viral or fungal eye infections.
