Amoxycillin (250 mg) + Clavulanic Acid (125 mg) is a broad-spectrum antibiotic combination used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections. Amoxycillin inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, while Clavulanic Acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that protects Amoxycillin from degradation by beta-lactamase-producing bacteria, thereby enhancing its antibacterial activity. This combination is commonly prescribed for respiratory tract infections, ear, nose and throat infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, dental infections, and bone and joint infections. It is effective only against bacterial infections and should not be used for viral illnesses such as the common cold or influenza.
